THE LINEUP for this year’s Limerick Jazz Festival has been announced by organisers at the Limerick City and County Council and the Arts Council.
The annual festival, which takes place from September 20 to 24 this year, will see artists Honor Heffernan, piano prodigy Carol Nelson, vocalist Beverly Beirne, and star saxophonist Camilla George from the UK descend on Limerick to shine a spotlight on the trailblazing women who have shaped and continue to redefine the world of jazz.
A quintet led by Tim Garland, featuring Jason Rebello, the Conor Guilfoyle group, and Joe O’Callaghan will also play in the Treaty City as part of the four day festival.
A triple-bill concert will round out the festival at Dolan’s Warehouse that will see the Lee Meehan Quintet, the Nigel Mooney Quartet featuring Jean Toussaint, and Nils Kavanagh take to the stage.
Nils Kavanagh was recently crowned as the Young Irish Jazz Musician for 2022.
John Daly, one of the organisers of the Limerick Jazz Festival, said that they are excited to fill the city with the sounds of jazz as the 12th annual festival takes place later this month.
“Our 12th Limerick Jazz Festival is on the horizon, and we can’t wait to fill September with the magic of jazz. Building on last year’s resounding success, this year’s lineup is set to dazzle,” he said.
“With fringe events popping up across the city, we’re reaching out to every music lover. Our heartfelt gratitude goes to the Arts Council and Limerick City and County Council for making this possible.”
