AFTER over three months sidelined by a knee injury, three-time All-Ireland winning captain Declan Hannon has returned to action, featuring for Adare in Thursday night’s Bon Secours Hospital Limerick Senior Hurling Championship outing with Mungret St. Paul’s at Askeaton.
Hannon’s problem significantly curtailed his involvement in Limerick’s annexation of the Liam McCarthy Cup for the fourth year on the trot.
Soon-to-be-wed Hannon, 30, looked in fine fettle on his return and struck an equalising goal in the closing stages.
Brian Begley’s Mungret, however, claimed victory (1-23 to 2-17) to put them in pole position for qualification into the quarter-finals.
Elsewhere in the top flight, 2023 All-Ireland winning skipper Cian Lynch was awesome for Patrickswell in a deserved defeat of Ahane at Kilmallock’s Fitzgerald Park.
The action continues across the weekend.
