Tasty start to Munster Senior Cup Rugby

GARRYOWEN (39 time winners) at home to holders Young Munster is the pick of the opening round fixtures in the Bank of Ireland Munster Senior Cup.

It’s pencilled-in for Dooradoyle this Thursday, with a 7.30pm kick-off.

Galbally’s John Staunton was recently unveiled as Director of Rugby with his former club for whom he was an outstanding performer. Scrum-half Neil Cronin is also part of the coaching ticket for The Light Blues.

Jamie Heuston is Garryowen captain for 2023/’24.

Club legend Ger Slattery has been confirmed as Head Coach with Young Munster, for whom Alan Kennedy will continue as skipper.

The Cookies are seeking to win the Munster Senior Cup for the fourth year on the trot.

In the same competition, Shannon entertain Nenagh Ormond at Coonagh on Saturday.
