Special bus service from Limerick to one of the summer’s biggest festivals

LIMERICK festival goers will be able to avail of special bus services to bring them to and from one of the biggest gigs of the summer.

Expressway, Bus Éireann’s coach operator, will operate a special service for those travelling to Electric Picnic on September 1.

The festival, held in Stradbally, County Laois, is one of the musical highlights of the summer for many, with over 70,000 people descending on the town each year.

On Friday, September 1, the special service will leave Colbert Station at 10am, with a return service leaving the festival grounds in Laois on Monday, September 4 at 11.30am.

A single ticket on the route will cost €30, while a return will cost €45.

Alan Brennan, Senior Manager of Business Development at Bus Éireann said that festival goers who wish to use the service should plan their trip well in advance.

“Electric Picnic is an extremely popular festival with over 70,000 people expected to attend each day. We are excited to be bringing people from Limerick, Galway, Dublin and Cork to this highly anticipated festival and want to make sure their journey is a safe and pleasant trip.”

“We would advise customers to plan their journey ahead and book in advance at expressway.ie to avoid disappointment,” he concluded.

Expressway will also run special services to Electric Picnic from Cork, Dublin and Galway.

Headliners of this year EP festival are Billie Eilish, Fred Again, and the Killers, with acts such as Niall Horan, Belters Only and Cian Ducrot playing across the three-day festival.
