SARAH Lavin is just one hurdle away from reaching her specialist final at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
The Emerald star easily qualified in third from Tuesday nights’ heats of the 100m hurdles (12.69) and now lines-up in the semi-final this Wednesday, 7.40pm.
On her chances of qualification, she told RTÉ Sport: “It will require something special and everything really, really precise in the moment. I think it’s going to require something beyond the national record and we know Derval (O’Rourke time of 12.65) is one of the most prolific athletes. It’s no mean feat.”
The top four from each will reach Thursday’s final, which is listed for 8.25pm.
