JIMMY Lee of county champions Newcastle West (NCW) will be confirmed as manager of the Limerick Senior Football team at next month’s County GAA Board Meeting.
Lee, whose brother was a previous long-serving incumbent, is the choice of the Appointment Group, which included Football Committee Chairman Wayne Fitzgerald.
It stated: “Jimmy has vast experience with his club of Newcastle West winning two County Senior Championships, and of leading them to a Munster Senior Club Championship final in 2022. He was was also previously involved in the Limerick Senior Football Management Team under Billy Lee (brother).”
The statement added: “Details of the back-room team will be announced in the coming weeks.”
It’s anticipated that Lee will engage a local selectorial/coaching ticket.
Lee will continue in his role with three-in-row seeking NCW until the close of the season, before taking up his new appointment.
Meanwhile, Adare (Group Two), Kildimo/Pallaskenry(KP), (Group One) and Newcastle West (Group One) all remain unbeaten after three rounds of the Irish Wire Products Limerick Senior Football Championship.
KP and NCW meet a Seán Finn Park, Rathkeale on this Thursday night.
The previous evening, Adare clash with Ballylanders at Kilmallock’s Fitzgerald Park.
