LOCAL heroes Kingfishr will perform a Live at The Big Top show at The Milk Market on Saturday December 9.
This will be the band’s biggest ever headline show, topping off an incredible year including a sell out tour and a career-progressing show at Thomond Park with Dermot Kennedy.
Kingfishr are Eddie, Fitz and McGoo, a three-piece who met at the University of Limerick, writing songs together and released their debut single ‘Flowers Fire’ in May 2022, the week before their final exams.
Kingfishr have since released further singles, ‘Eyes Don’t Lie’, ‘Heart In The Water’, ‘Anyway’ and ‘Headlands’ with over two millions streams to date.
The trio are celebrating an exciting Summer so far supporting Bruce Springsteen at BST, support slots on George Ezra’s UK & Ireland tour & Dermot Kennedy’s Dublin show at Marlay Park.
Alongside this they have performed at festival dates that include Live At Leeds In The Park, Barn On The Farm, Neighbourhood, Sea Sessions, Lytham Festival, Latitude & The Indiependence. In June the band sold out their headline show at Workman’s Cellar Dublin, and this October have already sold out a six date Irish headline tour. The band will take to the main stage at Electric Picnic in September.
They have also appeared on BBC Introducing Belfast, performed on Irish TV Series Other Voices, iRadio iLoveIrish track of the month with ‘Heart In The Water’ which sent the track Top 30 Shazam charts and in the top 100 Spotify Viral Charts.
Speaking at the announcement Mick Dolan said “I’ve followed Kingfishr since opening for Hermitage Green Live at the Docklands. The show in Thomond park (supporting Dermot Kennedy) was fantastic. It illustrated to me that they were ready for a step up for their own headline shows, This show is not to be missed”
