Section of N21 closed following two vehicle collision in Adare

GARDAÍ are currently at the scene of a two vehicle collision that occurred in a county Limerick village this evening.

The incident occurred on the N21 in the Adare area just before 4pm this afternoon.

In a statement to the Limerick Post, a spokesman for An Garda Síochána said gardaí were still at the scene this evening.

“Gardaí and emergency services are currently at scene of a two-vehicle traffic collision that occurred at approximately 3:45pm today, Friday, 18th of August 2023 on the N21 in the Adare area of Co Limerick.”

It is understood that the collision involved an articulated truck and at least one other vehicle.

The road remains closed tonight, and diversions are in place at either side of Adare village.

“No further information is available currently,” the statement said.

Gardaí say that traffic disruption in the area is to be expected.
