THE OWNER of a red Toyota Vitz had a close call earlier this month when a thief tried to steal their car but found himself unable to do so.
According to Garda John Finnerty, the thief attempted to steal the Toyota hatchback between the hours of 12pm and 9pm on Thursday, August 3.
“The thief smashed the driver’s side window. He got into the car and tried to start it by interfering with the ignition barrel. Fortunately he was unable to get the car started,” Garda Finnerty said.
Without a description for the thief, Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information to come forward to Henry Street Garda Station on 061 212 400.
