AS THROW-IN time fast approaches (11.45am Sunday), Mayor Gerald Mitchell has offered his sincere best wishes to Limerick in their All-Ireland Junior Ladies Football Final with Down at Croke Park.
The appearance at GAA Headquarters comes quickly on the heels of Limerick’s famous four-in-a-row of All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship wins.
Mayor Mitchell stated: “The Limerick Ladies Football team has exemplified the spirit of our city and county. Their commitment to excellence and their relentless pursuit of victory have not only united our community but have also inspired generations to come.”
“As they step onto the grand stage of Croke Park, they carry with them the hopes and dreams of every Limerick resident. We believe in them, and we are confident that they will make us proud once again – Luimneach Abú.”
Limerick previously won the championship in 2010 and 2018.
Graham Shine is manager of the Shannonsiders, who are the captaincy of Old Mill’s Róisín Ambrose.
Full television coverage of the final will be via TG4, while Live 95 will have an online/app commentary stream.
