
LIMERICK’S Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship is the most demanding of the lot, with teams engaged in seven fixtures before qualification is determined for the semi-final stage.
It’s one which incorporates eight clubs, all pretty much evenly matched.
After a couple of rounds, three teams – Bruff, Na Piarsaigh and Blackrock – are all unbeaten, with Bruff and Na Piarsaigh set to collide in a tasty round three fixtures in Fedamore next Sunday (1pm).
The outcome here will give a fair indication as to the real frontrunners to win out a championship that carries with it promotion to the senior ranks.
Bruff are fancied to win.
Blackrock, meanwhile, run-up against Effin at Kilmallock’s Fitzgerald Park, Saturday (6pm). The Rockies have been installed as favourites.
Elsewhere, Dromin/Athlacca clash with Newcastle West in Askeaton on Thursday (7pm) and Cappamore meet Glenroe in Hospital on Friday (7pm).
Dromin/Athlacca and Cappamore are both chosen to collect the points avaialable.
