NEWCASTLE West fashionista Aine Purcell was named as a finalist in the Bellamianta Ladies’ Sustainable Style Competition at the recent Kilbeggan Races.
The stylish Limerick lady braved inclement summer weather to take part in the competition which encourages racegoers to sport borrowed, thrifted, and handmade pieces in a bid to embrace sustainable fashion.
Competition judge and sustainable stylist Roxanne Parker said: “As a sustainable stylist I was looking for people who had rented looks, shopped vintage, upcycled pieces, or customised a previously worn piece.”
“I was also on the lookout for those who supported a local Irish designer, or someone who chose to re-wear something they already owned,” she said.
