TRAIN services between Limerick and Ennis remain suspended this afternoon (Tuesday), but are expected to operate as normal from 6pm this evening.
Irish Rail had advised customers that the rail service was suspended until further notice following an “operational issue”.
However, the company have since Tweeted that the Limerick-Ennis service was expected to operate as normal after the 18.05 Limerick-Galway service.
In a Tweet posted earlier this morning, the company said that the line was undergoing remedial works and could not give an exact time as to when the line would reopen.
The announcement of suspension of the service was made by Irish Rail through their Twitter account on Monday afternoon, with an update this morning confirming that the service remains suspended until further notice.
Bus transfers were in place for those using the service.
The line is now expected to reopen after the 18.05 service between Limerick and Galway.
