SARAH Lavin was again the star attraction at the National Senior Track and Field Championships, the 151st edition of which was staged at a wind-swept Morton Stadium in Santry, Dublin at the weekend.
The Emerald stalwart breezed to her eight 100m hurdle outdoor title in 13.13.
A strong headwind meant the possibility of toppling Derval O’Rourke’s national record of 12.65 was never a realistic goal.
However ahead of next month’s World Championships in Budapest (Hungary), Lavin will be extremely pleased with her run.
Lavin has a 12.73 clock to her credit, achieved at a Diamond League meeting in Stockholm (Sweden) at the start of July.
On Friday, she competes in a strong race in Bern, Switzerland before joining the Athletics Ireland holding camp.
