EN ROUTE to the roaring homecoming celebrations that overtook Pery Square on Monday night (July 24), All-Ireland champions Limerick kept a very special appointment at University Hospital Limerick.

Captain for the occasion Cian Lynch was joined on the visit to the Children’s Ark at University Hospital Limerick (UHL) by teammates Tom Morrissey and Barry Nash, manager John Kiely, and, of course, the Liam McCarthy Cup.

The pitstop delighted staff and patients alike, bringing a some lunchtime sunshine at the gathering in the playground of UHL’s paediatric unit.

A stop off at the Children’s Ark has become a widely anticipated part of homecoming celebrations for the four-in-a-row champions at this stage, taking the time to take selfies with staff and spend time with excited patients and parents, who expressed their gratitude for the visit, and for the huge positive impact of the team’s continued sporting success story.
