LIMERICK is set to get three new Garda Superintendents following promotions and transfers within An Garda Síochána.
Superintendent Andrew Lacey will move to the Limerick City North Community Engagement Functional Area, based in Henry Street Garda Station, taking over from Chief Superintendent Aileen Magner after her promotion, which sees her move to the Dublin Metropolitan District.
Garda Superintendent Peter Reidy will move to Limerick City South Community Engagement Functional Area, based in Roxboro Road Garda Station to replace Superintendent Lacey.
Meanwhile, in County Limerick, Superintendent Denis Kennedy will transfer to Limerick County Community Engagement Functional Area, based in Newcastle West Garda Station.
According to latest Garda figures released on on May 31, Limerick currently has a total of 584 Gardaí across all ranks.
This is broken down into 479 uniformed Gardaí, 82 Garda Sergeants, and 16 Inspectors.
There are also six Superintendents, and one Chief Superintendent in Derek Smart.
