One injured in explosion in Limerick City

GARDAÍ in Limerick are investigating an explosion in Limerick City in the early hours of this morning (Saturday July 15) that left one man injured. 

The explosion occurred at around 3.10am this morning in the Hyde Road area of Limerick City. According to a statement from An Garda Síochána, one man in his early 30s received non-life threatening injuries to his arm. 

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene after the explosion of a “viable device”, and are now appealing to any witnesses of the incident to come forward. 

“Any persons who were in the Hyde Road area of Limerick City between the hours of 2.30am and 3.15am this morning Saturday 15th July, 2023, and who may have camera footage (including dash cam) is asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí,” the statement read.
