LIMERICK are in a quick search to find a new Limerick Senior Football Manager.

Short-term boss Ray Dempsey (Mayo) – who had suceeded the long-serving Billy Lee of Newcastle West – left the post towards the end of the National League, and was replaced by Mark Fitzgerald of Kerry.

It had been anticipated that Fitzgerald would look for the job on a permanent basis but he “has indicated that he will not be putting his name forward.”

A statement from Limerick GAA added: “Candidates who wish to be put forward for the position must submit their name and details to the Limerick Football Chairman (Wayne Fitzgerald) by Friday next, July 21.”

Limerick were relegated from Division Two of the National League, and exited the Munster Championship at the hands of Clare but subsequently enjoyed an impressive run in the Tailteann Cup.
