ROTHAR, a leading provider of longtail cargo bikes, has announced its partnership with the Limerick Cycling Campaign as part of their E-Cargo Bike Share project.
This collaborative effort aims to transform the perception of cargo bikes by showcasing their versatility, practicality, and environmental benefits.
The ‘Try a Cargo Bike’ scheme, which is already operating with a front-loading cargo bike and running until the end of September, presents an opportunity for people to experience the functionality of these bikes.
By promoting the use of cargo bikes as a viable alternative to cars, the scheme aims to encourage individuals to adopt a more sustainable and active lifestyle.
“We have witnessed a significant surge in the popularity of longtail cargo bikes at our Dublin shop. Many families who purchase them are choosing to replace one of their cars with a cargo bike. This shift not only promotes a healthier and more active lifestyle but also contributes to reducing congestion in our cities and lowering carbon footprints,” said Anne Bedos, Founder of Rothar.
By collaborating with the Limerick Cycling Campaign, Rothar aims to expand the reach and impact of the free trial scheme which is aimed at families, low-income households, households with a disability and community groups.
During the scheme’s duration, interested individuals can contact the Limerick Cycling Campaign to try out the longtail cargo bike. Feedback and insights collected during the trial period will help evaluate the scheme’s success and potential for future expansion.
“We are thrilled to partner with Rothar on this innovative scheme. By offering city dwellers the opportunity to experience the ease and practicality of longtail cargo bikes, we hope to inspire more people to choose cycling for their daily trips and after-school activities,” said Limerick Cycling Campaign spokesperson Anne Cronin.
“The scheme has the potential to revolutionise urban transportation in Limerick, leading to reduced congestion, improved air quality, and a healthier community.”
