A LIMERICK National Lottery player has become the 18th millionaire made by the lotto in 2023.
Friday night (June 30) was a bumper night for wins, with a lucky Limerick winner scooping the top prize in the Daily Millions €1million draw.
According to the National Lottery, this is the eighth top prize win in the Daily Millions Draw, and makes the winner the 18th millionaire made in 2023.
The location of the store where the winning ticket was purchased has not yet been released by the National Lottery.
The winning numbers for Friday’s 9pm draw were 01, 07, 15, 24, 33, and 39. The bonus number was 08.
Elsewhere in the country, a lotto player in Ballinasloe, County Galway, won the top prize of €500,000 in Friday night’s Euromillions Plus draw.
Ballinasloe seems to be on a winning streak as this was the second such prize to hit the town in the same week.
Another player in the town also previously won the €500,000 Euromillions Plus top prize the week before (Friday June 24).
The National Lottery are encouraging people in Limerick and across Ireland to check their tickets to see if they are one of the big winners from Friday night’s draws.
According to the National Lottery “nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on all National Lottery games goes back to good causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage, and the Irish Language”.
“In total more than €6billion has been raised for good causes since the National Lottery was established 35 years ago. In 2021 alone, €304 million was raised for local good causes in communities across Ireland,” a statement concluded.
