Planning permission granted for 74 homes in West Limerick

PLANNING permission has been granted for a significant new development in a west Limerick village.

Adare is to see the construction of 74 units under phase one of plans passed by Limerick City and County Council (LCCC).

The new units will consist of 68 houses, with four five-bedroom detached dwellings, nine four-bedroom detached houses, 32 three-bedroomed semi-detached houses, eight four-bed semi-detached homes, five four-bed detached units, and 10 two-bed detached houses.

Six apartments will also feature on the site, with one single-storey one-bed apartment, two single-storey two-bed apartments, and three two-storey three-bedroomed apartments.

The application for the development on the Rathkeale Road in Adare was made by Dwellings Developments Adare Ltd, who are currently developing Cois Teampall and Tobar Phádraig in Mungret.

Also granted as part of the planning permission is the construction of an access road on the N21 Rathkeale Road, as well as all associated works.

According to the developer’s website, the first phase of homes in Adare will be delivered in 2024/2025.

Phase two of the development will see a further 25 homes built on the site, subject to further planning approval.

The second phase of the Adare development is currently at pre-planning stage, according to Dwellings Developments website.
