LIMERICK band Theatre have built up a positive reputation for their live show in a short few months since forming last August.
They are yet to release music but the five piece (Maeve O’Shea, Dara Gooney, Oscar Halpin, Dean Justice and Sean Storan) have worked hard on their sound blending folk, post-punk and new-wave.
“We all seemed to bond over bands like The Pogues, The Cure and even Thin Lizzy. We get the Cranberries reference occasionally but we think the music very much has its own unique sound and could be the start of something big.” says guitarist Dara Gooney
The band have added a strong support bill for this show, Dublin-based Ten Hail Marys have just recently performed at Forbidden Fruit Festival with a debut in London lined up as well as Limerick solo act Shroomie completing the lineup.
Theatre plus support play Pharmacia this Saturday June 17.
