ALMOST everyone has old photos lying in dusty folders or maybe in precious photo albums, but a native Limerick lady who has found herself with none is trying to piece together a collection from her childhood.
Sharon Fitzpatrick contacted the Limerick Post in the hope that someone can help her girlfriend’s sister, Ann Bowes, who would dearly like to get some copies of photographs of her communion, confirmation, and other childhood events.
“Ann is quite ill at the moment with bowel cancer and it would mean a lot to her to be able to gather some of these photos. She doesn’t have any of her own as they have gotten lost through the years,” Sharon told the Limerick Post.
Ann was born in in August 1955 and attended St John’s Girls School in the city, close to where she lived.
She made her communion on July 19, 1962, and her confirmation on November 19, 1967, says Sharon, who is appealing to people of Ann’s generation who may have pictures of the Limerick woman in her younger years amongst their family album collections.
“There may be class pictures out there and she would love to have a copy of them, or of any event from schooldays,” said Sharon.
“It would really mean a lot to her to see those memories come to life, particularly as she is ill.”
Sharon and her partner, Geraldine, live in Tarbert, but say they would be happy to travel to get copies of pictures of Ann and would undertake to return any originals they might borrow to copy.
Anyone who thinks they may be able to help with Ann’s trip down memory lane can contact Sharon by email on [email protected].
