Hegarty returns to Limerick attack

Gearoid Hegarty returns to the Limerick attack for Sunday's clash with Tipperary.

RUMOURS of his unavailability proved unfounded as Gearóid Hegarty was last night named on the Limerick team to face Tipperary in Sunday’s crunch Munster Senior Hurling Championship outing at Semple Stadium, Thurles (4pm).

Hegarty, a former Player of the Year, has been handed his customary number ten jersey ahead of Cathal O’Neill, while Mike Casey comes into the side in place of the injured Seán Finn at right corner back.

Meanwhile, Limerick suffered a heavy 1-19 to 1-2 defeat to Kerry in the Munster Minor Football Championship semi-final at Newcastle West. In the other semi, Cork beat Tipperary 5-9 to 1-11.
