GARDAÍ in Limerick are warning people not to make it child’s play for opportunist thieves to steal their property while they’re out and about in public.
The warning from Crime Prevention Officer Sergeant Ber Leetch came after a scooter was snatched while a father looked after his children in a local playground last week.
“Do not leave your handbag, phone, or purse in the buggy and walk away from it, keep your valuable property on you. Keep the children’s bicycles and scooters near you at all times,” Sgt Leetch advised.
“Criminals can easily take and then sell on these items, do not give them the opportunity.”
