UNITY Credit Union this week announced its partnership with Blue Box as its chosen charity of the year. As part of the new sponsorship deal, Unity Credit Union will donate €1,000 to Blue Box on behalf of its members.
Blue Box is a local Limerick charity providing psychotherapy services to vulnerable children, young people, and their families to realise their full potential through research-based, innovative, professional, accredited creative arts therapies. Priority is given to the most socially and economically disadvantaged children in Limerick.
Unity Credit Union embarked on the sponsorship as part of its community outreach and social engagement in Limerick.
Speaking about the new partnership, Pat Owens CEO, Unity Credit Union said: “Blue Box is a charity that provides much needed support to local communities throughout Limerick. We are only delighted to support Blue Box on behalf of the membership here at Unity Credit Union. We too are a non-profit organisation, so from our perspective it is important to support local charities who rely on the generosity of others to run such a vital services in our community.”
Outgoing Blue Box CEO Bernadette Kenny added that the orgaisation were “delighted with this partnership with Unity Credit Union”.
“Their ethos of social responsibility and community development is very much in line with our own core ethos here at Blue Box. We are very happy to work together with the credit union as they help us in raising much needed funds for the services we provide to the people of Limerick,” she said.
