Minor footballers seek phase one final victory

The Limerick minor football squad and management team.

IRRESPECTIVE of the outcome of tomorrow (Thursday) night’s Phase One Munster Minor Football Final involving Limerick and Tipperary in Mallow, both counties will have another tilt at outright glory in the provincial under-17 championship.

Also pencilled-in for this Thursday is the quarter-final between Cork and Kerry – who are only entering the competition at the point – at Páirc Uí Chaoimh, with the proposed semi-finals on Thursday next listed on munster.gaa as: Quarter Final Winner v Phase 1 Runner up; Quarter Final Loser v Phase 1 Winner.

Thursday’s two matches will be livestreamed by Munster GAA (€10) with the Limerick game getting under way at 7pm.

John Ryan managed Limerick have been buoyed by the availability of captain Aidan O’Shea, who will line-out in the number 14 berth.

Limerick and Tipperary met in the round-robin stage, with the Premier County prevailing 1-11 to 0-7 at Rathkeale’s Mick Neville Park.
