THE Irish Chamber Orchestra continues to welcome world class soloists to Irish shores including Greek violinist Jonian Ilias Kadesha who will perform at St Mary’s Cathedral on Friday May 12.
The charismatic Greek violinist is carving a name for himself around Europe and beyond with his colourful and imaginative programmes.
Kadesha has appeared with leading chamber orchestras, including the Netherlands, Scottish and Mendelssohn Chamber Orchestras, Manchester Camerata, London Mozart Players, and Aurora Orchestra.
He has championed repertoire from composers including Enescu, Bartók, Mozart, Bach, Skalkottas alongside a concerto written for him in 2022 by Giovanni Sollima. Kadesha is a member of the Keleman Quartet, founder of the Caerus Chamber Ensemble and co-founder of the award-winning Trio Gaspard.
For his debut with the ICO he will perform the following programme of music: Mendelssohn String Symphony No.2 in D major; Skalkottas Five Greek Dances (arr. strings); Bartók Rhapsody No.1 (arr. Miloradovic); Beethoven Violin Sonata No.9 Kreutzer for Violin and Strings (arr. Tognetti).
