A VERY worthy local charity will benefit from a special performance by the Irish Doctors’ Orchestra in Limerick City on May 14.
The 60-person all-island volunteer orchestra will perform in the Redemptorist Church on Sunday, May 14, with all proceeds going to the Limerick-based Children’s Grief Centre.
Established during the Covid pandemic, the orchestra is made up of doctors, medical students and healthcare workers who are also classically trained musicians.
Under the baton of former UL Orchestra conductor Liam Daly, they will perform a programme including works from Tchaikovsky, Von Suppè, and Haydn.
The Children’s Grief Centre provides support to children and young people affected by loss through death, separation, and divorce. They have worked with more than 2,000 young people across Limerick, Clare, and Tipperary since 2009.
Tickets for the May 14 concert can be purchased through Eventbrite and under-12s are free of charge.
