Since 2001, The Máirtín O’Connor Band has built a powerful musical partnership between Máirtín O’Connor, Cathal Hayden, and Seamie O’Dowd, all distinguished figures in the traditional music scene.
Their individual expertise as master musicians is well established, marked by a remarkable range of skills, diversity, and virtuosity. When they collaborate, they create an exhilarating and musically charged atmosphere that challenges the very definition of brilliance. Together, they are a formidable musical powerhouse.
This concert is part of a weekend-long masterclass programme in partnership with Music Generation Limerick, during which these renowned musicians will work with a group of young traditional musicians, guiding them on a musical adventure that will culminate in a public performance on Day Three.
The masterclass provides a unique opportunity for aspiring musicians to work closely with three of Ireland’s most highly acclaimed traditional musicians. The concert will feature Máirtín, Cathal, and Seamie, as well as some of the young musicians who took part in the masterclass.
