A CITY centre car park could soon get a new lease of life under plans submitted to Limerick City and County Council in recent weeks.
A planning application has been submitted to the Council for Cruises Street Car Park on Denmark Street which would see the rooftop area of the facility be turned into commercial spaces and a roof terrace.
Roly Chamberlayne, project director with Jones Investments has lodged plans for the site which would see 1,890 square meters of commercial space created on the top floor of the car park, as well as roof terraces and a central landscaped courtyard.
A new internal stairwell would also be created, with access from Little Ellen Street, and access to the elevators would also be reworked.
The development would also consist of elevation changes to the south, north east and west elevations.
Jones Investments, the company behind the plans for Cruises Street Car Park have previously delivered projects in Dublin, such as the Bottleworks, as well as the Tramyard and Dockmill House which was purchased by Google in 2014.
The plans for Limerick are currently at pre-validation stage which will see the council review all submitted material before deciding whether or not to make a decision.
A decision on the application is due by June 14.
