LIMERICK people are being asked to take a walk on the bright side when the annual ‘Darkness Into Light’ fundraising event takes place on Saturday, May 6.
Organised by Pieta, the suicide and self-harm crisis support agency, local walks are being organised in Limerick City, Kilmallock, Newcastle West and Pallasgreeen, all starting at 4.15 am.
The event will see more than 100,000 people across 200 locations walk into the sunrise in the name of mental health. In 2022, Pieta delivered more than 50,000 hours of free, one-to-one therapy online and supported close to 700 households bereaved by suicide.
