A VISIT to Scotstoun to tackle Glasgow Warriors in the quarter-final of the URC is next on the agenda for an ever-improving Munster, who are currently on an excellent run of form with eight wins and a draw secured from the last 11 fixtures.
The outing with Warriors, who edged-out Connacht on Saturday, is listed for Saturday week, May 6 (7.35pm).
At the weekend, Munster came from behind to earn a brilliant 22-22 draw with Sharks, who beat the province soundly in the Champions Cup two weeks earlier. As a result, Graham Rowntree’s side crucially confirmed their qualification for next season’s Champions Cup.
Sharks, meanwhile, will be absent from the Champions Cup of 2023/24, unless they win outright the URC (quarter-final v Leinster, away).
Sharks were dominant in the scrum and won penalties at the set-piece throughout the game, leading 19-3 (Jack Crowley penalty) after a first half they controlled.
A brilliant fightback from Munster after the break started with a penalty try as Calvin Nash and Conor Murray also touched down with Ben Healy kicking a conversion.
The visitors nearly won it at the death, but Gavin Coombes was held up over the line.
On the hour mark, Keith Earls was introduced for his 200th cap. Unfortunately, he was an enforced absentee for the closing stages through injury.
URC quarter-finals: Glasgow Warriors v Munster; Leinster v Sharks; Ulster v Connacht; Stormers v Bulls.
