Limerick recovered in the closing-half but their brave challenge just came up short. Top scorer for the visitors was Patrick O’Donovan of Effin while substitute Oisín O’Farrell of Askeaton impressed with a couple of neat points.

Over the past couple of seasons, English has featured in six National League outings but has yet to taste championship action.

He won back-to-back (2019/’20) Munster Minor Championships with Limerick.
