IN AN effort to further promote the sport, Limerick will meet Clare in the Munster Senior Camogie Championship as a curtain-raiser to their Munster Senior Hurling Championship fixture at the TUS Gaelic Grounds on Saturday April 29.

The camogie tie will throw-in at 4.30pm, followed by the centre-piece of the evening’s programme at 7pm.

The Limerick camogie team are under the management of John Lillis, with Marian Quaid of Bruff continuing as captain.  Last season, Limerick were beaten early-on by Tipperary while Clare reached the decider against eventual All-Ireland Finalists Cork.

Several similar double-headers have been lined-up for the coming months.

Munster GAA Chairman Ger Ryan said: “I am delighted that once again a number of Camogie and Ladies Football games will be played as part of our Munster Championship programme of games in the coming months.

“The addition of several Camogie and Ladies Football games in 2022 as curtain-raisers to our Munster Senior Hurling and Football Championship games worked very well and I have no doubt the inclusion of further games this year will continue to enhance the bond between our respective bodies.”

Munster Camogie Chairperson John Foley added: “As the new Chairman of Munster Camogie, I’m looking forward to the year ahead and an exciting Munster Camogie Championship. It’s great to see the games being held as double headers with the Munster Hurling Championship.”
