Man arrested as €200,000 worth of cannabis seized in Limerick

Cannabis seized by Revenue officers in Limerick earlier today

A MAN was arrested after Revenue officers seized approximately 10kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €200,000 in Limerick earlier today.

The seizure was made as a result of a joint intelligence-led operation conducted by Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and the Limerick Divisional Drugs Unit.

A man in his twenties was arrested and is currently detained under the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act at Henry Street Garda Station.

In a statement issued this evening, a spokesman for the Revenue Commissioners said that investigations into the case are ongoing.

“This operation was part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
