Limerick Chamber to highlight Shannon Estuary’s green potential

LIMERICK CHAMBER is set to bring together key players in green energy for a breakfast panel discussion tomorrow (Friday) morning.

The event, ‘Energy on The Estuary’, aims to highlight the actions needed to make harnessing green energy from the Shannon Estuary a reality.

The panel discussion will feature experts in renewable resources, with the opening address delivered by Limerick Green Party TD Brian Leddin, who is Chairman of the Oireachtas Committee on Environment and Climate Action.

The panel will be hosted and led by Limerick Chamber chief executive Dee Ryan.

Discussing the expected investment in renewable energy in the Shannon region and the opportunities arising from it will be Barry O’Sullivan of the Shannon Estuary Economic Taskforce; Val Cummins, Simply Blue Operations and Project Director; Pat Keating, chief executive of the Shannon Foynes Port Company and Kieran McManus, ESB’s Head of Offshore Wind Generation.

The event will offer the Mid West business community a chance to gain some insight into the opportunities available in green energy creation, as well as Ireland’s potential to become a leading exporter of green energy.
