Les SalAmandas, The Record Room, The debut album, ‘There’s A Sea Between Us ’ is out now, a collection of songs they have been working on over the last 3 years and they recorded with Daniel Ledwell (award winning producer) last year in Nova Scotia, Canada. The Irish-French indie-folk act have been performing around the country for the last two years, sharing stages with artists such as Mick Flannery, Gemma Hayes, Paul Noonan and Wallis Bird. Named by The Irish Times and The Irish Examiner as ‘Ones To Watch’ in 2023.

Billy Magra & Tom Prendergast  The Record Room, Commercial Bar

Comedian, film-maker Billy Magra brings GUSTO to The Record Room this Saturday February 18. His stand-up show will be followed by a DJ set from the inimitable Tom Prendergast. Billy and Tom Prendergast worked together opening a live venue in Galway.

Billy remembers, “I opened up a weekly rock gig at The Glentworth on Sunday nights in 1977. Then helped by current Limerick arts activist and DJ Tom Prendergast (then a UCG student) I opened another live music gig night in Galway.”

As a producer/director Billy created TV/Film projects with U2; The Pogues; Clannad and Michael Jackson, Pink Floyd and David Bowie.  He produced and directed the feature length film Citizens of Boomtown – the story of The Boomtown Rats in 2020.

He has since turned back to his first creative outlet, namely stand-up comedy. In 1983 The Sunday World hailed him as ‘Ireland’s best comedian’ and among one of the pioneers of the live stand-up circuit in the country.

Gemma Hayes

Gemma Hayes, Dolans, Born into a musical family with seven siblings in the village of Ballyporeen, Tipperary, Gemma Hayes enrolled into university Dublin before e ventually making the decision to drop out of college and pursue music full-time.   Gemma was approached by EMI’s dance music imprint Source Records and signed a multi-album deal in 2001. She was just 23 years old. Her debut album Night on my Side proved a critical success, and it was just edged out by Ms. Dynamite’s A Little Deeper in the race for 2003’s Mercury Music Prize. 

Qween, Dolans, Authentic sounding and celebrated tribute to the rock legends. The band always attracts a big crowd to their show. Followed by After Party on Dolans Terrace.
