ALMOST 25 years ago, DGD Shredding began providing secure shredding services to the Mid West region. Since then, the Limerick company has grown substantially and now provides shredding and destruction services throughout Ireland.
DGD’s services include onsite and offsite shredding of paper, cardboard, hard drives, products, and IT equipment.
Two years ago they began their journey towards becoming a carbon net zero company. This involved calculating their carbon footprint and identifying any hotspot areas where emission reductions would make the greatest impact. In order to become carbon net zero, DGD committed to reducing or eliminating these emissions through a number of initiatives, and offsetting where this was not possible. A plan was developed to achieve this by the end of 2023.
On the strength of this, DGD Shredding was shortlisted for the Green Small Organisation of the Year Award, taking place on February 21. The Green Awards recognise the extraordinary contribution and commitment that companies make towards growing a greener future in Irish business.
