SECTIONS of the Limerick Canal Bank walkway between the Pa Healy Road Bridge to the University of Limerick Boathouse will be closed between Monday, January 9 and Friday January 20 for hedge cutting and maintenance work.
In a statement issued today, a spokesman for Limerick City and County Council said that separate sections of the walkway will be closed off at different times so as to minimise disruption to walkers and cyclists.
He said that the council will try to keep as many sections open as possible but some will remain closed, while the maintenance works are ongoing.
Works will only take place Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 4.30pm so the walkway will be open to the public outside of these hours.
