SHANNON Airport is set for its busiest Christmas in three years with almost 75,000 passengers expected through its doorsย from now through to New Yearโs Day.
The positive newsย comesย just a week after Ryanair announced aย new serviceย to Liverpool, its third new route announcement for Shannon in as many weeks, with new services to Naples and Porto also launchingย next summer.
Shannon Airport Group chief executive Mary Considine said the topย priorities wasย to ensure everyoneโs journey through Shannonย Airportย is as easyย and enjoyableย as possible.
โOur aviation development team have done fantastic work in securingย a number ofย new routes forย Summerย โ23ย to Porto, Naples, Bezier, Newcastle and Liverpool with Ryanair and a daily service to Chicago with United,”she added.
The airport terminal building has beenย decked with festive decorationsย whichย includeย aย 12-footย tree in theย arrival’sย hallย andย aย life-sizeย Santa sleigh for visitors to sit-in and take ย photos.
Visitors to the airport will be met with the sound of carol singing in the arrivals hall by the local St Senan’s National School on Tuesday and St John’s Nationalย School on Wednesdayย between 10.15 and 11.45ย am.
Singer Chloe Griffin will also be entertaining visitors with a live set of festive tunes on Thursday.
