€210,000 of cocaine seized in Limerick estate

GARDAÍ on Monday seized more than €210,000 of cocaine and made one arrest following a search operation at a house in a Limerick estate.

At approximately 2.30pm on Monday, Gardaí from Henry Street Garda Station’s Divisional Drugs Unit carried out a search operation under warrant in a house in St Mary’s Park, Limerick.

During the search, an estimate in excess of €210,000 of cocaine was seized along with a large quantity of cash.

The cocaine, weighing 3.1kg, will be subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland.

One man, aged in his 50s, was arrested at the scene and taken to Henry Street Garda station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

The search was carried out under Operation TARA, An Garda Síochána’s national anti-drugs operation, with a focus on tackling street-level dealing in cities across Ireland.
