GARDAÍ investigating robberies in the Limerick City area last Sunday arrested two male teenagers this morning.
The first incident under investigation occurred at around 4.15 on Sunday evening when a male teenager was approached by a group of young men on the Castletroy Greenway, one of whom was armed with what was believed to be a hammer.
The injured party’s phone was taken during the course of this incident in which no injuries were sustained.
Later that evening, at around 7pm, a young man was knocked to the ground, assaulted and had a number of items taken from him on Arthur’s Quay.
“On the morning of Thursday, November 10, two male youths in their teens were arrested as part of this investigation,” a Garda spokesman said.
“They are both being detained at Henry Street Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 and investigations are ongoing,” he added.
