LIMERICK City and County Council’s Homeless Action Team have been questioned about the measures in place to provide emergency accommodation for those who need it in county towns.
The issue was raised by Fine Gael councillor Tom Ruddle at this month’s Home and Social Development Strategic Policy Committee (SPC) meeting when he was informed that emergency housing provision is available throughout County Limerick.
“If someone needs emergency accommodation in Abbeyfeale, we are able to accommodate them in the local area”, he was informed by a member of the council executive.
“Sometimes we might have to move them to another county town, but we always take into account things like the need of being near schools,”Cllr Ruddle was told.
