ROOOBIX is the brainchild of Niall Colgan who has been djing in Limerick for longer than he cares to remember, starting with Limerick’s first ever dance club The Buzz Club in the basement of McKnights on Thomas St and then moving on to the legendary Strictly Rhythm in the savoy in the mid 90’s.
During lockdown he came up with the idea for Rooobix an exclusively vinyl night for djs that only play records for people that want to dance and feel the energy of music played on this much loved format.
The Record Room by its name and reputation was the only venue considered and ROOOBIX is now a monthly vinyl only dance club night that takes place on the last Saturday of every month in the basement of The Commercial on Catherine Street. House, Disco and Funk is the vibe created by Niall and Phil Wade on the turntables – one for your dancing shoes. Roobix happens in The Record Room this Saturday September 24.
