GARDAÍ are singing the praises of GPS trackers after a man in Rathbane was reunited with his van after being stolen by thieves last weekend.
“He informed gardaí that a GPS tracker was attached to the van and, because of this, the van was traced and located not far from where it had been taken. There wasn’t any damage done to the van and no property was taken. Trackers can be bought for €30 and upwards. In this case it was money well spent. The van was returned and no property was missing,” said Sgt Ber Leetch, Crime Prevention Officer at Henry Street Garda Station.
