LIMERICK publicans took a record haul of awards back to the Treaty city from the Bar of the Year Awards in Dublin last weekend.
Nine Limerick establishments featured on the list of prizewinners at the awards, which recognise excellent bars, knowledgeable staff, high-quality service and innovation in the Irish bar trade.
Out of 27 categories, Limerick entrants brought home four gold, two silver, three bronze medals, as well as the Dingle’s Gin People’s Choice award.
Mother Mac’s pub won both the Traditional Bar of the Year award and the bronze medal for Craft Bar of the Year, with the City Bar of the Year going to 101 Limerick.
Those looking to sample the trendiest cocktails should look no further than The Tack Room at Adare Manor while the Outside Space award went to the nearby Fitzgeralds Woodlands House Hotel.
Dolan’s took home both the overall and regional title in Munster, winning the Dingle Gin People’s Choice Award as well as the silver medal for Best Live Entertainment Bar.
The Locke Bar won the bronze medal for Tourist Bar of the Year, while House Limerick brought home the bronze for Wine Bar of the Year.
