COMEDIAN Pat Shortt is an ambassador for the Samaritans in Limerick and Tipperary and presents a new video for the charity’s latest recruitment drive.
The short video gives an insight into volunteering with Samaritans
Pat explains: “What attracted me to the Samaritans in the first place was the tremendous work being done by the volunteers here. They are fully trained to handle all scenarios that come their way.”
For those who would like to learn more about volunteering with Samaritans there is an Awareness Event at Jetland Shopping Centre on Thursday August 25 and Friday August 26.
The Awareness Event will be at Limerick Milk Market from 9.30am on Saturday August 27 and at The Crescent Shopping Centre on Saturday afternoon.
The Samaritans will hold an Open Evening at their offices on 20 Barrington Street,
Limerick V94 AC60 on Wednesday August 31 from 7.30pm.
Interviews commence in mid-September and training begins later that month.
