A NUMBER of lorries were targeted for diesel during a break-in in Newcastle West last week. According to Garda John Finnerty of Henry Street Garda Station, two criminals broke into a business park just off Station Road in Newcastle West last Wednesday, July 20. He added: “This occurred at exactly 4.11am. They targeted a number of lorries where they succeeded in siphoning €500 worth of diesel from same. They were disturbed in the yard by the owner who was alerted to what was taking place. Unfortunately they still managed to escape with the diesel.” Anyone with information can contact Newcastle West gardaí at 069 20650.
