A WOMAN has been arrested after Gardaí seized an estimated €143,140 worth of drugs and €32,900 in cash during a search of a house in Rhebogue, on the outskirts of Limerick City yesterday.
Gardaí from the Limerick Divisional Drugs Unit searched a house in the Drominbeg area of Rhebogue as part of Operation Tara, the enhanced national anti-drugs strategy to prosecute drug trafficking networks at all levels.
Supported by members of the Armed Support Unit, the Gardaí seized €134,750 worth of cocaine; €8,300 worth of cannabis and €90 of cannabis resin along with €32,900 in cash.
A woman in her early 30s was arrested and is currently detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 for questioning, at Henry Street Garda Station.
A Garda spokesman said that investigations are ongoing.
